Teaching Philosophy
My Personal Educational Philosophy regarding teaching in a Community College Environment is as follows:
Provide instruction in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Environmental Science, Oceanography, and Computers in a friendly but professional atmosphere that motivates the student to think and learn. Provide a course and lecture outline at the beginning of the course, including a test schedule and grading system. Maintain an accurate student attendance record. Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations in an objective and timely manner and discuss the results with the students. Evaluate and modify curriculum by reviewing the input and feedback of students, staff, and administrators. Provide students with advice as needed and use alternate teaching and learning methods for students with learning disabilities and/or other special needs. Teach in accordance with the varied learning styles of the students. Frequently, review the current literature in my teaching field to bring pertinent, new developments to the class. Be a team leader, fellow learner, and impartial advisor to my students.
