Description
This course is structure toward reading and analyzing dramatic works from various periods, countries, and genres. Students identify elements such as plot, theme, character, dialogue and style and compare and contrast these elements with the socio-political climate of the era. Philosophical ideals, morals, ethics, beliefs and perceptions of the culture are identified and evaluated within the dramatic text as students assess the ways in which art reflects life and illuminates important themes. THE2300 is a writing credit course. Students must earn a minimum grade of C to meet the requirements of the Gordon Rule for writing. THE2300 meets the International Intercultural competency requirement.
