Description
Oceanography is an interdisciplinary science course which considers the biological, physical, and chemical components and processes within the earth's oceans. Topical sections include: the history and processes (plate tectonics) which have shaped ocean basins; the ocean constituents (seawather & sediments); physical processes which drive circulation processes (currents, waves, & tides); life in the oceans play in controlling global climate; and environmental concerns. The course will emphasize oceanographic processes and their effects on the global system.
