Description

This course is designed to explore the use of informatics in nursing practice and its role in enhancing client care to provide quality patient outcomes. The course provides an overview of various operating systems, hardware, software and network configurations. With a focus on health information systems and the electronic health record;the course also examines issues related to the protection of the privacy,confidentiality and security of information in health care environments and the potential use of social networking tools used to communicate health related information. Departmental approval is required to enroll.
