Description
Health Alterations I is a course designed to provide the learner with knowledge of alterations of ingestion, digestion, metabolism, and elimination throughout the life cycle. The major focus is directed at meeting the health care needs of the adult patient through utilization of the nursing process. The learner will be expected to integrate principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the digestive and genito-urinary systems into the nursing process. Components of pharmacology and nutrition will be included in this course. Consideration will also be given to the psychosocial aspects of the wellness/illness continuum.
